Meet Brionté McCorkle

Brionte for Atlanta City CouncilHello, I’m Brionté. Nice To Meet You.

I want to be your Atlanta City Council representative for District 11, and I’ll tell you why.

In 2014 I helped lead the effort to expand MARTA to Clayton County. Thousands of people, businesses, pastors, and community leaders in Clayton County came together to make it happen. This wasn’t just about expanding transit; we were helping to improve people’s lives. Now more than ever I believe that when we come together, we have the power to shape the community we want to see. This is why I am running. I want to spend every day working to empower people and to help improve their lives, especially here in my southwest Atlanta community.

The work I did in Clayton helped set the stage for Atlanta’s MARTA expansion last year. Thanks to that investment and more, southwest Atlanta is about to experience rapid growth. I have spoken with my neighbors, activists, artists, business people, teachers, firefighters, policeman and more. One thing is clear: We are all ready for more development in our community. It is our time.

As we grow, I want to make sure that everyone has a quality home and a good job. I want safe communities with great schools and childcare for our kids to learn and grow in. Our neighborhoods should be clean, healthy, and easy to move around. I will work to make sure our businesses are thriving, and that our streets and parks are taken care of. To achieve this, I will make sure that everyone is informed and involved. Now is the time to take control of our future and give our ourselves and our families the opportunities to thrive that we deserve. Let me work with you and for you to make it happen. I know we are ready for more, and we are ready for better!
